Located in the historic area of Dupont Circle this single family home was to be converted into a multi unit condominium. Doing this was very controversial due to the historic zoning regulation of Dupont Circle. Although the zoning allowed this change of use the neighborhood and officials thought otherwise. They were worried Newport 21 Condos would set a precedent. The new contemporary back facade was also a point of contention although it faced a regular alley. After a long-arduious process the design was approved and allowed for 6,000 SF - 6 units, 3 in the historic / restored area of the home and 3 in the new addition.
